CPP and Old Age Security

CPP, OAS, GIS, and CPP disability all pay on the same day — the third last banking day of the month.

Canada Child Benefit

The CCB pays on the 20th of each month, earlier when the 20th lands on a weekend or holiday.

Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly the GST/HST credit)

Quarterly, on the fifth of the month. The final 2026 payment was October 5. The next payments land January 5, 2027 and April 5, 2027. Amounts, the new name, and who qualifies: the Groceries and Essentials Benefit guide.

A note on timing

Direct deposit usually lands on the date shown. Mailed cheques can take up to ten business days longer, and Service Canada asks you to wait that long before reporting a missing payment. EI follows its own rhythm — every two weeks, after you submit your report.
